Lake Bennett Train & Stampeder's Trek

Spend a day in the shoes of a gold prospector during this picturesque full-day hiking and rail tour through Klondike Gold Rush country.

Hop aboard the "Scenic Railway of the World" for a 40-mile ride up the tracks. View sub-alpine meadows, the White Pass summit, the White Pass Trail and the many waterfalls that punctuate the expansive panoramic views. Disembark at a wilderness whistle stop where your trek begins.

Your route takes you through the northern boreal forest of British Columbia where it joins the historic Chilkoot Trail. Continue on this world-famous route, then make the dramatic descent into Lake Bennett, the gold rush camp where hopeful prospectors built their boats for the daring 450-mile trip to the gold fields surrounding Dawson City. Tackle the rugged terrain conquered by stampeders a century ago and take in the spectacular views of majestic mountains, lake-filled valleys and an amazing array of wildflowers. Along the way, you may spot bear, moose, eagle, caribou and other wild inhabitants of this incredible land.

On completing your hike, reboard the train and dig into a cooler of back-country delights including cold beverages. At Fraser, transfer to a motorcoach for a scenic drive to Skagway along the historic Klondike Highway.
